Back in 2007
In 2007 this was the News page of the original Dear website.
Welcome to Drop News, the official home of Dear launch updates. Everything we announce about the heart-and-star baby tee lands here first (well, right after it lands in Dear Club inboxes). No rumors, no made-up countdowns, just real news when it’s real ♡
Where we are right now
Here’s the honest status of the Dear launch:
- The first piece: a white micro-rib baby tee with a pink heart, a baby blue star and the “Dear” script logo.
- Launch window: spring 2027.
- Status: coming soon. The shop isn’t open yet.
- How to hear first: join the waitlist at the bottom of this page.
Website open, tee coming soon: the Dear website is open now, so you can read the Journal, browse the Lookbook and join the waitlist today. The heart-and-star baby tee itself is our first drop, planned for spring 2027. Until the drop, nothing is for sale here yet, and any Dear tee listed elsewhere is not from us. Bookmark this page: every official step toward the drop, from the size chart to the shipping and returns details, will be posted here first.
What’s announced so far
The heart-and-star baby tee
Our first drop is one piece we’re really excited about. The baby tee is the most iconic shirt of the 2000s: small, fitted, cropped, short sleeves. Ours is a soft, stretchy micro-rib knit with a happy little heart-and-star design. It’s made to be the cutest basic in your closet, the one you wear with baggy jeans on Monday and a pleated mini on Saturday.
The website
This site is home base for Dear. Along with Drop News, you’ll find the Dear Journal, the Lookbook, our FAQ, the Dear Club and the story about Dear.
What we’ll announce next
These details aren’t final yet. We’ll post each one here as soon as it is:
- Final price
- Size range and full measurements
- Final fabric and care details
- Shipping options, costs and delivery times
- Return and exchange policy
- The exact drop date
Until then, if you see a “Dear” baby tee for sale somewhere else, it isn’t from us. The official launch will always be announced on this page and to the Dear Club first.
How a Dear drop will work
Step 1: The announcement
We’ll post the drop date here and email the Dear Club.
Step 2: The details
Price, sizes, measurements and shipping info will go live before the tee goes on sale, so you can pick your size in advance with our baby tee sizing and fit guide.
Step 3: The drop
The shop opens, the waitlist hears first, and the heart-and-star tee goes home with you.
Why “drops”?
A drop is a limited or scheduled product release instead of a giant always-on catalog. It’s a fun way to launch, and it lets a small brand focus on getting each piece right. For Dear, it means fewer, better, cuter things, announced clearly and honestly.
Y2K trends we’re watching
Drop News is also where we’ll share notes on the 2000s style revival and how the baby tee fits in. A few things we keep seeing:
- The baby tee as a basic. It’s moved from trend to everyday staple, worn with everything from baggy jeans to tailored trousers.
- Pastel color stories. Pink, baby blue, lilac and butter yellow, often mixed together.
- Hearts, stars and sweet graphics. Small, playful motifs instead of giant logos.
- Soft layering. Shrugs, lace-trim camis, zip hoodies and cardigans over fitted tees.
- Relaxed bottoms. Baggy jeans, cargos and pleated minis balance a fitted top.
- Two-piece rule. One or two throwback items per outfit so Y2K looks modern, not costume.
See these ideas in action in the Lookbook and our guide on how to style a baby tee. Need a term explained? Try the Y2K glossary.
A little history
The Dear name first appeared on an original clothing line sold at Steve & Barry’s in 2007–2008. Today’s Dear is a new, independent relaunch. Read the fact-checked story in the original Dear line, 2007–2008.
